Toshiba Service Manual
Toshiba introduce two models of laptops T1000 and T1200 in 1987. Although having limited floppy-based DOS machines and read only memory stored in the operating system, it out smarted other laptops. It had lead-acid batteries and models was light and small to be portable. They introduced in DOS-base machines “resume” feature, which is nowadays standard. Under “resume” feature the computer can be paused between sessions and there is no need to start is every time. During mid 90s Toshiba Satellite was launched targeting corporate market. It was successful with Pentium-based two-spindle (floppy disk drive and hard disk) system. Rapid transformation in laptop is taking place and there is need to upgrade it within short period. For up-gradation as well as for fixing general problems Toshiba Service Manual is of great use.
Usually, a laptop faces lockup problem, battery dysfunction, DVD error or slow running. The Toshiba Service Manual provides guidelines for a range of problems that could be tackled with ease. For example, after playing a DVD for sometime Toshiba Satellite M45 laptop freezes up one should first concentrate on upgrading it memory, because both 512MB memory and 1GB memory work fine in combination, but do not work together. A new BIOS updates should be installed. If DVD is not functioning properly do not rush to replace it, instead install a test hard drive and reload the original factory software, it may fix the problem.
In the same way if there is battery charging problem don’t be in hurry to replace it. First plug your laptop to the AC outlet, if it starts a balloon will pop-up and a description of non availability of battery. The easiest way to fix the problem is updating the BIOS. Toshiba recommends installing at least v1.30 version of BIOS, further it depends on the laptop model. Even if laptop shuts down after a few seconds and no video appears on the screen then the logical step should be to unplug the LCD display assembly and check that all connectors are seated perfectly. Sometimes entire system is prevented from booting due to improperly plugged video cable.
Sometime your laptop may be running slow or lockup while playing a DVD movie. Here the first suggestion would be to run an antivirus program and also spyware removal tool, there may be possibility of spyware or adware present in your laptop. Other to it, check the amount of space available in your C drive, there so be no less than 20 per cent space left in your drive or its impact could be detrimental. Also check the case of overheating, may the CPU heatsink be clogged due to dust and lint. In such case regrease the CPU, clean the heatsink and reflash the latest version of BIOS.
